Frequently Asked Questions

Listed below you will find an F.A.Q. guide (Frequently Asked Questions) that most clients ask at one point or another. Let's jump in and answer some of those for you. It is my job to inform you, and help you feel comfortable, so that all you have to concern yourself with at your photo shoot is You.

The Process of a Luxury Photoshoot

Luxury photoshoots are not a one-size-fits-all experience. I believe in a carefully curated journey that ensures a personalized and enjoyable experience for our clients. This process evolves through a series of stages, starting with the initial consultation and culminating in the final selection of images.

First up - a Consultation where we discuss YOUR vision for the shoot

Every crafted masterpiece begins with an idea, a vision, and your luxury photoshoot experience is no different. During this initial step our journey together we get to know each other. I get to understand more about your style, your personality, and your vision for the photoshoot. We discuss your goals for the session, dive into the styles you envision for your portraits, and plan a session tailored to your personal requirements.

This consultation is crucial for me to understand the inner you - and how to authentically capture it.

The Magazine Cover Styled Makeover

One of the highlights of a luxury photoshoot is the glamorous makeover. With complimentary makeup and an experienced eye over your outfits, we will work with you to choose the perfect outfit, hairstyle, and makeup that complements your vision and to help you you look and feel your best. From boardrooms to bedrooms, your makeover is designed to reflect your personality and shoot vision, to make you feel comfortable and confident.

The Luxury Photoshoot Session

The next step is the photoshoot session itself, where all our planning and designing comes to life. It is here where I lean into my portrait experience and mastery of lighting techniques to capture your authentic beauty. Your comfort and enjoyment is my priority. I understand that not everyone is at ease in front of a camera, and that’s okay! I will guide you through different poses, and use my years of experience to capture the real you beautifully.

Next up: Reviewing, selecting your final images and product ordering

This step of our luxury photoshoot process is the review and selection of your images, and happens at the end of your session. This is where you get to see what we created come to life before your eyes! You get to choose your favorite images and decide what you'd like to order.

After your selection, we move forward with the production of your beautifully crafted, custom-designed art pieces that are ready to be displayed and admired. Approximately 4-6 weeks after your selection, your artwork is ready to be a part of your world.

This carefully curated process ensures that your luxury photoshoot experience with me is personalized, delightful and unforgettable. I are committed to capturing your beauty and creating a bespoke, timeless piece of art that you can cherish forever.

I want to work with you!

What do I wear for my photoshoot?

Here at Lynne Kruger-Haye Studio we will photograph you in 3-5 different outfits. Each of our sessions and posing plans are tailored to each of our photography clients, so we recommend that you bring any and everything that you feel beautiful in. Let's run the full length with your wardrobe choices! Some key things to keep in mind though:

Wear a button down, a robe, or a top with a wide neckline to the studio on the day of your session. This will make the transition from the hair and makeup chair to your first wardrobe choice much easier and avoid having to smudge your makeup or ruin your hair.

Think texture OVER print. Big, bold and crazy patterns distract from your face, especially in photos. Textures however, photograph beautifully - especially in Black & White. Textures are: cable knit, denim, lace, tulle, chiffon, velvet, even fur. Also, if you absolutely must have a print, consider pairing it with a cardigan or a texture to tone the print down around your face.

Bring a range. While we only photograph you in 5 outfits, bring 20. We'll put things together at your arrival and who knows? Maybe I'll even put together options you haven't thought to wear yet!

RAW Sessions? Boudoir? Me…????

Definitely! There are so many aspects to boudoir (or as I call it - intimate) photography. Some women do it to reclaim themselves, while others craft them as gifts for their significant other. The bottom line is that an intimate photography experience is empowering.

It takes courage to embrace yourself like that, and for those of you that haven't experienced it yet, consider what it must feel like to take the time and care into putting yourself out there, exactly as you are: To embrace your femininity, and define your own beauty on your own terms.

In our RAW Sessions we embrace our own imperfections. We celebrate who we are in the here and now. No professional hair and makeup, just you as you are every day. No retouching, just the pure beauty of YOU.

I am so grateful that I get to help bring that joy and strength to so many women, and fully live MY why:

“To inspire women (through their photoshoots) to be brave enough, so that they can live life abundantly and unafraid”

How do I prepare for my shoot?

As you know, each of us has our own routine but when you're preparing for any kind of photo shoot you really do need to consider the details: Hair, nails, waxing, skin, to tan or not to tan, etc. We suggest the following:

Hair cut/color: this should be scheduled 10-14 days prior to your photo shoot. This gives your hair the time it needs to settle in to the new style and texture.

Nails: Take advantage of scheduling your shoot. Book your mani-pedi! Your hands and nails will be in the pictures and you want them to be polished and looking gorgeous. We do recommend staying away from heavier tones in photographs but, you know what works best for you. Can't decide? Go with a clean polish. The buffing and shaping alone will help immensely.

Waxing: No less than 3-5 days prior to your shoot. Skin can be very finicky when it comes to waxing. No-one wants big red welts in their pictures.

To tan or not to tan: Tanning bed or spray? This answer is not going to be popular with many but we do not endorse tanning prior to a photo shoot (yes - I know what I said). I know many of you are looking for that sun kissed glow but with so many of the results, we find that whether fake or real, tanning does nothing but age you. And besides, we don’t want any weird colour cast in your gorgeous images!
